In September 2015, the Royal Town Planning Institute in London held its annual elections for the Vice-President, the Board of Trustees and the General Assembly.
Samer has been elected by the membership of the Town and Country Planning Association, the TCPA, to its Board of Trustees.
Samer took part in Brighton in a Construction Voice debate, chaired by former BBC journalist Miranda Birch, focusing on “the balancing act that is design vs viability in Brighton and Hove and the wider Greater Brighton region”. The speakers were Samer, architect John McLean from Morgan Carn and surveyor and valuer Simon de Whalley, from the District Valuer Services.
Samer has been invited by the World Bank office in Saudi Arabia to participate in a workshop with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs in Riyadh on 12 May 2015.
Samer was cited in a special feature on seaside resorts on 2 May 2015 in the Argus newspaper.
Samer has been invited by Isra University in Jordan to deliver a keynote address on 8 April 2015 on his work and thinking on sustainable urbanism in Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.

The focus of the lecture given on 18 November 2014 to staff and student at the University's Department of Architecture was on learning from European and Latin American cities when it comes to transforming perceptions of sustainability of built environment in the global cities of the Gulf.
Joining around 70 people from across the built environment sector representing a wide variety of organisations and specialisms and different parts of England and the UK.
