Community Engagement & Volunteering

Samer Bagaeen is currently President of the Brighton and Hove South Downs Rotary Club (2012-2013). In addition, he is a Trustee and Director of the Brighton Bilingual Primary School (Free English-Spanish School opened in Brighton and Hove in September 2012) and had previously served as Chair of Governors for St. John the Baptist Primary School in Brighton (2009-2012). He was elected as a Community Councillor for the Yorkhill and Kelvingrove area in Glasgow in 2007 and before that served as a Management Committee Member with Partick Housing Association and as a Non-Executive Director with Partick Works Ltd, the Association’s development arm. He was the founding chair of the STOP Community Action Group (http://www.tescopoly.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=287&Itemid=109) in Glasgow.
